Cookies and local storage

There is no tracking here. Choosebike sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies, and runs no analytics service — so there is nothing to consent to, and no cookie banner to click away. What is stored is only what the site needs to work, which under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive is “strictly necessary” and requires no consent:

• maibike_session — a cookie that keeps you signed in after you confirm your email. Set by us, readable only by the server, expires after 30 days. Without it you would be signed out on every page.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — the “confirm you’re human” check on the sign-up form. Cloudflare may store a short-lived token on its own domain to prove the check was passed. It exists to keep bots out and tells us only pass or fail.
• Your browser’s local storage — your half-finished wizard answers, so you can come back to them, and the link you arrived from. This never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Some shop links in your advice are affiliate links. Following one takes you to that retailer, who sets their own cookies under their own policy — we set nothing there, and they learn only that an anonymous click came from Choosebike. What we do with your data is in the privacy policy; the money behind those links is in the affiliate disclosure.
